Oh My Cuteness!!!

Whoever said that mixing the 40's with the 80's couldn't work, has their mouth dropping in awe of Marc by Mark Jacobs Spring 2010 collection! And to make things even more interesting, he added African-inspired prints to reel in those tribal print lovers! This collection is also my favorite look for men this season. The ultra easy fabric of the rolled up pants was just absolutely attractive to me. But really, this collection had me at the bunny bows and geek-retro sunglasses! An all around super fun collection!

Excuse Me While I Drool Over The Details

If anything makes me dream about far off islands with a Malibu Rum in hand while on vacation, it is the collection by Custo-Barcelona! I practically drooled over the detailed pictures Elle.com provided of this collection. The popping white and bold vibrant colors, the breezy knits and attractive playful tassels! This collection is just a spell of fun!

Two Tone Hair Fever

From Kerli to Lady GaGa the two tone look is all the rage! I am a big fan of this look. I just don't know if I would be brave enough to go there again with my hair. I wish I had a picture to show off my dreadlocks from some 6 years ago. I used to rock locks that were dipped in platinum color to create a look of depth that was both edgy and dramatic! Not sure if this look is for you? You can always purchase hair extensions of various colors to try out, to see if the look fits you! The photo above is of a fashion spread done by Abbery Lee Kershaw for Vougue Australia. This is my favorite pic of her work from this Issue. It's a New Year and Spring is almost here!Have you got makeover fever like I do?

Pocahontas Keeps Poking Me!

Ever since I saw the Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton’s ad with Madonna fiercely styled and posing, I can't seem to get the whole Pocahontas meets High Fashion image out of my head! Well, I can confess, I have been obsessed with feathers for more than five years now! I occasionally love to pop up to events with one peacock feather dangling from my ear. What can I say, I am a lover of using fashion as a conversation starter! This year you can find all sorts of fashion and accessories jumping on the tribal hot wagon. From feather printed dresses and tunics to highly adorned wedges and sandals! Here are a few things that have caught my eye:

Highlighted: Japan's Yellow Shoe Obsession

I was just wondering if anyone else noticed Japan's obsession for yellow colored shoes? I've been searching to figure it out but all I can think of is that it just works to wear this color on your shoes. Sort of like highlighting the design of your shoe. Found a cute shoe? Get it in Yellow! I've found some yellow shoes worthy of your tootsies on Aldo and Arden B.'s websites (see below). The flats are on sale at Aldo, so get them while they are hot!

Harajuku Girl Report #1

The 90's Can Make You A Star!

Well, atleast that was the truth for Liya Kebede and Lily Donaldson! Everytime I go to pick up a V Magazine I gawk over it's pages, taking the time to soak in the richness of color, style and creativity that seems to outpour from it's pages! The latest issue featured a fashion spread of an Hip Hop 90's flashback! The British and Ethiopian supermodels where made to resemble legendery Hip Hop Queens such as Salt & Pepa and Lil Kim. Mimicing their style interpreted today. There was bold color, funky style (did you see those super stacked platforms?) and quirky posing of the models. The entire spread had me thinking about my days in grade school fussing over my jeans and jean jacket, trying to make myself look cute. Proping the hair up in cute lil coufs to show off the bamboo earings! Too bad I wasn't old enough to rock the fierce plum lipstick! No reason why I can't rock it now! I am a big fan of the smokey eyes. The black liner was my best friend in high school because it was the only thing my mom aloud me to wear as far as make-up. The gold bangles is noted on my shopping list of things to buy! Well, done V! I was just on a Japanese website that has an entire group interested in this style...I wonder if they are gawking over the magazine too?

Are You Ready? Military Style Has Made It's Mark

Speaking of 60s mod, I was scanning my twitter page looking for another blog idea when I ran across a tweet by the NY Times with the title, "Noticed-The Revolution Will Be Wearable." My eyebrows raised in excitement! Without reading the article first, I quickly retweeted it in agreement that the sixties making a mark in our wardrobe is just plainly a great idea!

Recession? I'm Going 60's Mod!

Prada's Spring Collection debut in Milan gives us hope that fashion can still be inspiring, despite the odds of a smaller budget to invest in our personal style. 60's mod is not only genius but a relief to women who have an appreciation for vintage, prints and bold patterns. Women who are not afraid to wear popping red pouts to signify our confidence to do so.
